Heartwise Relationship Reflection

My Ideal Partnership

Welcome to Your Relationship Reflection Journey

This exercise will guide you through a series of reflective questions about your relationships and personal values. Take your time with each question and be honest with yourself - this is just for you.

You'll explore:

  • Your closest personal relationships
  • Your favorite characteristics about yourself
  • Important qualities you value in a partner
  • Your vision of an ideal relationship

Ready to begin?

Part 1: Your Closest Relationships

Consider your five closest personal relationships. These can be friends, family, teammates, or others in your community. Write down 2-3 of the things you appreciate most about those relationships (e.g., what do they add to your life? How do they make you feel? What are some favorite experiences have you had together?)

Part 2: Your Favorite Characteristics

Think about yourself and write down your top ten favorite characteristics about yourself (e.g., loyal, funny, driven, spontaneous, spiritual, etc). There are no wrong answers here!

Part 3: Qualities in an Ideal Partner

Now that you've thought about yourself and your current relationships, list the top ten most important qualities that your ideal partner would have (1 being the most important and 10 is the least). You can consider age, political beliefs, background, education or career, ambitions, or any other attributes. For now, let's keep it to non-physical characteristics.

Part 4: Your Ideal Relationship

Finally, let's write about your ideal relationship right now. What are behaviors or traits you want in an ideal relationship? How do you want to feel while with your partner? What should it *not* include?

Thank You!
