Heartwise is not just another dating app—it’s a transformational tool that helps singles date with confidence, clarity, and purpose.

Anjishnu Chakrabarti Head of Organizational Learning

Anjishnu (he/him) is a PhD candidate in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at The George Washington University, where he also earned his Master’s in Psychology. He holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Northern Illinois.

Anjishnu's academic expertise in workplace psychology, talent assessment, and performance management informs his work building Heartwise's research and improvement systems. He designs longitudinal user studies, qualitative research pipelines, and data frameworks that track users throughout their relationship journeys — translating behavioral insights into actionable product improvements. His prior experience working on applied research teams at startups and enterprise software companies shaped his research philosophy, which guides his vision for behavioral research that informs and fine-tunes Heartwise’s product.

At Heartwise, Anjishnu collaborates cross-functionally to test assumptions, define customer archetypes, and conduct regional market analysis to support the company's expansion. A part-time Graduate Student Instructor at GWU, where he developed and taught a Group Dynamics course, he brings both scholarly rigor and a genuine passion for evidence-based, human-centered research.

Dhwanil Mori Head of Data Science and Research Design

Dhwanil (him/him) is a data scientist and systems thinker passionate about building intelligent systems that improve real-world decision-making. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Data Science at George Washington University, where his work focuses on multi-agent AI systems, decision intelligence, and the responsible design of emerging technologies. Growing up in India in a family of entrepreneurs, he developed an early understanding of operational complexity, risk, and the importance of disciplined decision-making. This perspective continues to shape his analytical approach today.

In addition to his academic research, Dhwanil is the founder of RAIN (Retail Analytics & Intelligence Network), a platform that helps small and mid-sized retailers reduce stockouts and overordering by strengthening data infrastructure. At Heartwise, he serves as Research Design and Data Science Lead, building scalable measurement systems, experimentation frameworks, and ethical data architecture to support meaningful human connections. He believes that well-designed systems do more than optimize outcomes — they create clarity, strengthen trust, and enable lasting impact.

Aurora Zaytoun Customer Discovery and Market Research Assistant

Aurora Zaytoun (she/her) is a researcher with a background in environmental science and human-centered inquiry. As a Customer Discovery and Research Assistant at Heartwise, she supports qualitative research efforts that surface insights into how individuals navigate their personal lives and partnerships.

She holds a B.S. in Environmental and Sustainability Science and a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from George Washington University, where she developed a dual approach to research grounded in both data and narrative. Her academic and professional experience spans environmental policy, stakeholder engagement, consulting, and both qualitative and quantitative research, including work with The Nature Conservancy.

Aurora brings a thoughtful, observant perspective to her work, with a particular interest in how careful listening and meaningful questions can uncover insight, build understanding, and support more intentional relationships. As a former President of Capital Peers, a student health and wellness organization, she has also led initiatives focused on peer support, well-being, and community-building.

In her free time, Aurora enjoys reading, traveling, practicing her tennis serve, and beating her friends on board game night.

Heartwise was founded in 2024 by Christine Wenzel. While studying Global Health at UC San Diego, Christine became involved with research projects focusing on consent and healthy relationships on university campuses, conducting interviews and focus groups with other undergraduate students. In 2019, she co-led the Let’s Talk about Sex [Education] research project that explored young adults’ sexual education experiences and relationship outcomes. Hearing firsthand the struggles and successes of young people’s romantic relationships illustrated the lack of relevant relationship resources for her and her peers. Since then, she has continued gathering research and expert advice as she navigated her dating journey and supported friends in their experiences.

In 2023, after reading news articles on how the dating app industry was failing its users, Christine imagined Heartwise. The following year, Heartwise grew from an idea to a startup. In the 2024 George Washington University New Venture Competition, Heartwise was an Explorer Track finalist and received an in-kind prize. For the same competition in 2025, Heartwise received the Best Storytelling Prize and an in-kind prize. You can read more about Heartwise in the 2025 New Venture Competition in GW Today’s Revolutionary Tales.

In 2026, Christine was joined by Anjishnu Chakrabarti, Aurora Zaytoun, and Dhwanil Mori to accelerate progress in defining and creating Heartwise.
