Heartwise is Seeking a Social Media and Marketing Intern

Overview

Heartwise is an early-stage startup revolutionizing how young professionals approach dating by combining relationship education with meaningful matchmaking. If you're also passionate about helping people build healthier relationships, we'd love to have you on the team.

The Social Media and Marketing Intern will be responsible for developing a marketing plan and connecting with our target audience through authentic, relationship-focused messaging. This position will also collaborate across a small team and take on other relevant responsibilities to ensure the success of the organization.

The team meets for one hour weekly, and the Intern can anticipate 2-5 hours of work per week.

Top Responsibilities:

  • Design a marketing strategy that will support Heartwise’s research, business planning, and eventual launch, including a pre-launch campaign to build a waitlist and generate buzz in DC market.

  • Collaborate with the research team to recruit interviewees and prototype participants who are part of Heartwise’s target market.

  • Develop a social media strategy across relevant platforms, such as Instagram, TikTok, or LinkedIn.

  • Coordinate with the events team to promote research events, launch events, or other gatherings with external stakeholders.

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Work with CEO to establish brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across Heartwise’s social media platforms and marketing materials.

  • Create original content, including graphics, videos, and written posts that align with Heartwise's mission.

  • Engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and build community relationships.

  • Monitor social media trends in dating, relationships, and wellness to inform content strategy.

  • Track and analyze social media metrics to track progress toward goals and inform marketing strategy.

  • Other related responsibilities as needed.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience managing social media accounts for brands, organizations, or personal projects. 

  • Strong understanding of platform-specific content creation and best practices. 

  • Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software. 

  • Knowledge of social media analytics and performance tracking.
